It is in near perfect condition and it is still running 7.5.2 and it had img files of all the OS disks on the drive. The battery seems to hold a charge for about 10 minutes or so before going to sleep. Its a nice addition to my collection, including all the type 11 errors I got while copying the hard drive contents to my G3 as a backup

One thing - years ago, I purchased aftermarket batteries for my 5300s - while they were a little better than old Apple batteries, not by much, and they all died completely (failed to be recognized) after about a year. I keep my little stock of Apple NiMh batteries rotated and do a recondition every 6 months or so. They don't have much juice but at least it's enough to keep the clock set while it's unplugged. I've never had one of them die completely.
If these had had Li-Ion batteries as planned, a lot more of them would still be around today...they are just the size of netbooks...
Congrats on the find!
| Posted by: tyrannis on 2010-02-11 08:22:58 It's amazing to me how many people left 7.5, 7.5.1, and 7.5.2 installed without upgrading. I've received several PowerBooks that were still running versions <7.5.3, and I bet they went out of service years ago because of all the errors.
