went to the Outlook recycling joint in Mornington the other day

Picked up the following

FastNet Localtalk dongle.

iomega ZIP250 sans PSU and cables

Iomega Zip100 disk.

I also picked up an Alcatel SpeedTouch Pro box thing, sans PSU, it's the model with the 4 ports on the back, so if it works, it'll do for a low speed router in a pinch.

also grabbed a lonely PC, case is in good nick, just a bit dusty. Badge on it identified it as a Celeron, I got a bit excited for all the wrong reasons, a bit of research showed it wasn't much better than a P2… If i had of known better I would have left it there. :I

Bit of sad news too, the Frankston Recycling center is closing at the end of the month, So long tip shop. A new Facility is going to open in Skye a few days later, just further away for me. :'(

Hmm, not bad. As for the SpeedTouch...I don't know about the Alcatel models, but I deal with the Thomson ones every now and then, and I'm sorry to say it, but they're useless. There's an extremely good reason as to why Telstra used to give them out for free.

As for the Zip 250, I used to have one...it takes a DC power supply, 5 volts and 2 amps, from memory...if you want I can have a look at mine and give you the specs.
