Is there ANY browser for 68k macs that can view deviantart in a usable state? I have friends on there, and i like to be able to check up on it. Why? i love birds. that's where all my favorite bird pics are.

i really really want to do the retro computing challenge. however, i need the browser for what i said.

It won't be pretty, but Netscape 4.0 was available for 68k (here is a link - MacBinary II Navigator 4.08) and I imagine that could be used.

I believe deviantArt works in iCab to some extent, but I haven't personally tried that - not having used iCab before.

It's good to see enthusiasm for the retrocomputing challenge, I'm going to see if I can get around to it once I actually get my retrocomputers working 😛

Can't testify to iCab working, nothing 68k and internet connected to test with. Have you tried IE 4.01? Netscape may be the best choice in this case. There's a listing of existing 68k web browsers here and another summary here The latest version of iCab for 68k is iCab 2.9.9 which cab be downloaded here If you don't have System 7.5 the summary site (second link, third sentence) mentions some additional stuff needed to get Netscape or iCab working

Both iCab and Netscape 4.0 will work on DeviantArt. I have accessed it via my LC475 in the past. It ain't pretty and it ain't fast, but it's better than a kick in the nuts.

Just tried it again with my Powerbook 540c, both browsers will work, Netscape being a touch quicker, but iCab renders the page a touch nicer.
