| Boxed Quadra 605 and 14" Apple CRT! |
Posted by: olePigeon on 2009-12-29 17:05:02 $76 on eBay! Yehaw! This puppy will sit on my Mac Shrine next to my LC (which I'm getting a new mobo for free from some chap in Oakland tomorrow.) I also bought a 128MB 5v EDO SIMM from someone on eBay for $15 with free shipping. They had 4 in stock. If it works, I'll let you guys know. $15 is about 1/2 what I paid for my last 128MB SIMM.
Man. Talk about years of looking, then in a span of a few months I get a boxed LC + monitor, and now a boxed Quadra + monitor. This is the best year ever. I'm giddy with excitement!

Posted by: LCGuy on 2009-12-29 17:46:01 Geez you're doing alright! :O Nice machine, looks in good original condition with no yellowing, too. Did you get the disks for all the applications listed on the box?

Posted by: olePigeon on 2009-12-29 17:58:04 I don't know, it hasn't shipped yet. 😛
I'll find out soon. I'm not too worried about the software since Apple put up System 7 for free. I also have 2 copies of System 7.1 on floppy, and one extra copy of 7.5.5 on CD. So I'm good to go even if it doesn't include the software. They said it includes the manuals, but you know how these things are. I'll know in a few days. 🙂

Posted by: Cory5412 on 2009-12-29 22:52:31 That, is really awesome!
Congrats, and I hope that there will be good unboxing pictures! Even if, as it looks like, it's been unboxed before. [😛] ]'>

Posted by: Mike Richardson on 2009-12-30 21:24:53 Very nice. Boxed stuff is so rare.
I actually have boxes with no corresponding (serial # matched) machines... I have one for a 7600, one for a PowerBook G3, a G3 Tower, and an Apple 15" Display.

Posted by: JRL on 2009-12-31 11:32:36 I actually spotted that auction on eBay!
Nice conquest. :O

Posted by: jkoci on 2009-12-31 12:54:57 Really nice. The 605 is my favorite Quadra. I had one a while back as well as its cousin the LC 475.

Posted by: olePigeon on 2010-01-02 13:30:57 I put the new 128MB module into my LC 575 and it registered fine, so I'll post the link if anyone else is interested. It's a darn good price, but there are only three left: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180448534803
$15, and free shipping. Hard to beat for a 128MB 72 pin SIMM. It came in a sealed antistatic bag. Looked new to me, or at least well-refurbished.

Posted by: olePigeon on 2010-01-06 13:23:37 Well, it was literally just the computer in the box. I was kinda disappointed. Oh well. The new RAM I bought also works in the Quadra. 🙂
I'll keep a lookout on eBay for an accessory box for a Quadra 605. The accessory boxes occasionally appear on there.

And if they don't have them, and won't refund you any money, you can give them a nasty ding for their lying.
