Presto 040 for IIci
Posted by: olePigeon on 2009-12-04 18:51:26
I have a Presto 040 that came with an LC computer I bought. Were there two physically different cards for the LC and II series Macs? Or was it just one card, but had an adapter for the II?

The PDS slot for the IIci and the LC PDS slot are two completely different interfaces, unfortunately.

The Presto was also only made for the LC series.

My instruction manual has specific installation instructions for IIci. Lowend Mac even has benchmarks of a IIci with a Presto upgrade. That's why I was asking. Perhaps they were just two completely different accelerator cards, one for the LC and one for the IIci?

Edit: Answered my own question. I even found the product. They made a separate Presto 040 for the IIci, IIcx, IIvi, IIvx series.

Oh whoops, my bad. I remember a specific Presto 040 for the IIci now.

It's pretty rare/expensive though, and a Daystar Turbo040 would be easier to find.
