| Need RAM identification Help Please! |

Hi there! I think both of the following are for older PowerBooks, but I don't know what kind would use them!
First one is below. Has "A 8Mx64 EDO 3V 120 Connector" on it and some more numbers. Company is Goldenram Date of Manufacture is 04/30/99:

Next one doesn't have too much revealing info on it: PAR HD12883 and MPB340032 is what is on a little sticker.

Those are either some really big RAM modules (for a laptop) or you have really tiny fingers

I would place my bet on one of the following:
PowerBook 190, 5300, 3400, and (judging by what I have read here lately) the G3 "Kanga."
As far as I know, some 190 and 5300 RAM modules are interchangeable, as are some 3400 and Kanga modules.

My 2c:
Smaller module: 95% sure that's a PB3400 module, hopefully 64MB. May not work in a Kanga/3500 unless you're lucky (see my thread on modification of 3400 module for use in 3500).
Larger/wider module: Am also 95% sure that's a PB190/5300 module - won't work in 3500! Completely different size and chip ratings (much slower).
The 5% of doubt: I've got it the wrong way around 🙂

The 5% of doubt: I've got it the wrong way around I'm pretty sure you are right. The smaller one was in a bag I had labelled "64MB??" from about 5 years ago. Thanks for the help! Do you think I should sell them for $5 to cover shipping? I'd hate to charge people for such old things, unless they actually had some value.

Actually, I believe their both PB 3400 RAM modules. I got a PB 5300 ram module in my hand here. (Goldenram, 09/30/97) The connector is reversed on the 5300. Apple did this so that the 3400 and 5300 ram modules are not interchangeable. Voltage differences or "chip ratings" as Byrd was saying. Something like that, I don't know why exactly. 😛
If my PB 3400 was in working order, I'd be interested in that large one. It's power-port is broke. Gotta re-solder it. But I don't have the tools for that at the moment. Plus I'm working on getting my new PowerBook G4 Titanium's screen to work. (Needs a new display cable.)
