extracing data from IMG files

title says it all. trying to extract hidden files from an IMG file for an old game, can't seem to figure it out, searched a bunch here and everywhere and didn't find much.

If the title says it all then we have very little to go on, some clues might help.

It's one of those information rich questions such as "What am I holding behind my back?"

What platform, archtecture, operating system, format?

Which hidden files?

which game? these things are hardly common standard issue formats, details are needed

the IMG file is for the Bloodbath CD. I'm trying to grab the game's resource files. I tried using ResEdit to unhide the files but the mounted IMG is locked even if I tell Shrinkwrap to default to mounting images unlocked, so that didn't do anything. I had found an attribute list to use ResEdit to determine which app compiled the image but had since moved on and couldn't find it again when I actually started dicking around with ResEdit (it was late at night) so I don't know if it was made with Disk Copy or whatever. tried a few Windows apps to open the file with but that didn't work either.

FileBuddy should do the trick.

err forgot it's on System 7.5.5

I tried searching for FileBuddy but couldn't find any downloads for anything older than OS9, any help?

There's a couple of old versions here. 3.4.8 should do the trick nicely.
