AHHH. Are you like screaming? Check your caps lock man! 🙂

I have thought of the same thing with my 350mhz.

They are not compatible, but you can mod the heatsink to be on top of the processor so that it does not explode.

Please noooooo Caps.

sorry hahah when you say mod the heat sink ........ what would happen if i just used the heat sink from my 400 and used it on the 600? is that possible? or is it in a different location .......and when you say mod does that mean cutting away plastic on the imac?

It means a lotta nasty hacking, involving glue and duct tape. Yes you could use your current heatsink but its not 100% guaranteeed to work.

about the only surefire way to tell is to pull it apart and hold the 2 motherboards next to eachother, notice mounting differences and clearance issues

thats what i feared ha-ha that i didn't want to have to do that but i guess its the only way thanks for the help.

Turn off your caps lock please.

Congratulations on your success. If you could put up some photos and details of the modifications you had to make, that would be terrific.
