So, it appears that the server issue is a intermittent logic board issue which is responsible for the sporadic instabilities. Unfortunately, the cost of repair is about as much as a new server so a repair is not worth it. As such, it is up to you all as to whether or not this archive comes back online. Due to the nature of the data in the archive the server must be a mac running mac os x and before I invest in a replacement machine I want to know that there's still interest in the archive. So, as soon as I receive sufficient donations I will replace the server and bring the archive back online. |
