| Posted by: phreakindee on 2009-08-17 17:39:05 Well, I just had my week made. I was out this evening, when I hadn't planned on being out at all and was kind of not wanting to drive places. I happened to be driving past an old pawn shop I hadn't visited in ages, so I figured why not, I had found a $20 bill on the floor earlier so why not? I get inside and there is the usual overpriced stuff, but then I see an Apple logo. It was a Performa 6400/180 with 32MB RAM in rather nice condition, not yellowed and with a label that said "comes with accessories". So I asked the guy at the counter about it and he laughed at me. "That old thing? Really? What do you want to know?" I asked what kind accessories, he said a keyboard and mouse and stuff, but he may have some stuff in the back. Turns out it came with a monitor, all cables, paperwork, manuals, a pile of software and other random goodies. He said he'd let me have it all for $15, he just wanted SOMEbody to buy it! They had had it there for a long time, and just wanted it gone, turns out they were going to throw it away soon if nobody grabbed it. I don't know what these go for, but I figured hey, why not? $15 So that's one more older Mac saved from the landfill. Works great too! Other than a dead battery and some color issues with the monitor at times, but those are as good as fixed.    | |
