| Video/frame capture on LC? |
Posted by: phreakindee on 2009-08-07 16:02:01 I have an LC575 with 7.5.5 and here is my question: is there someway to output video from the machine? Either through hardware or software. I do gaming reviews and want to do some classic Mac titles, but have no way to record them. I don't want to just point a camera at it and I would like to avoid emulation like Basilisk if possible.

Posted by: LCGuy on 2009-08-07 16:14:21 Short of finding a card such as the Focus L*TV (which goes into the PDS slot and gives you composite video out, EXTREMELY hard to find - I've never heard of anyone on here coming across one), your only option is to get a video out solution (such as the Power-R Presenter 575 or whatever its called), and to use it to connect a scan converter (such as the Apple Presentation System), which you would then be able to connect to your TV or VCR.

How involved is an install of one of these - does it looks like it's missing anything?

I have one of those with paper manual, can cut you a slightly better deal. Not sure where you are going to mount it. Yeah, I was kind of wondering that myself... I don't see anywhere it would mount very nicely. If there's some solution to that (which I assume there is?), I would be interesting in buying it off you. PM sent.

$4.99 - 4 available. Looks like exactly the kind of thing I'm looking for, provided that it works! Thanks!

Posted by: Trash80toHP_Mini on 2009-08-21 14:29:08 So, this type of card is the opposite of my VideoSpigot LC frame capture card? :?:
The eMachines SimplyTV Card macmetex is selling just sends Mac Video to a TV?
The VideoSpigot captures TV and creates Quicktime Movies, IIRC . . . I haven't even tried it out yet . . . :I
jt: so many toys . . . so little time! :🙂

Posted by: Unknown_K on 2009-08-21 19:18:37 I have a Videospigot LC as well, but it sucks having to trade ethernet for it so I have yet to play with it.

I've also got th Radius VideoVision Studio in my Radius 81/110 (?) PPC Clone, so I played with that a little back in the (early 68kMLA) day.
Can't remember what the results were though . . . :I
. . . doesn't matter though, that setup is supporting (alongside the Q950) the MultiWorkStation/MacDisplay unit I've been working on for my living room. I'm in the finishing stages of that project, so piccies will be posted . . .
. . . within a month or so . . . maybe . . . :-/
jt: too many projects/too little time . . . and $! 🙁
