8 used, olden-times Mac books
Posted by: Dog Cow on 2009-08-04 09:46:57
I fancied a trip to a semi-local used bookstore the other day (Sunday) and rescued 8 used Mac books.

They are:

Power Macintosh 8600 Users' Manual

The Power Mac Book!

Fully Powered PowerBook

Customizing your Mac for Fun/Productivity

Inside System 7

Using MacWrite

The Complete HyperCard Handbook (an oldie but goodie)

and Multiplan on the Macintosh

Cool!

The only Mac book I have is Macs for Dummies, either the second or third edition.

The Mac book I want is a MacBook! }🙂

Always nice to have some reference books when you get into the vintage Macs. Lots of information when these machines were the best there was. Good find!!

Indeed. Partly, my collection is for posterity (if there will be a posterior). If they have the machines but don't know how to use them, then that's a shame. Not everything is documented on the Internet, so having books is the best thing. Unfortunately, I had to leave behind a QuickTime book from 1993, two little guides on System 7 and Macs in general, and 2-3 software manuals, but I'll be back later for those.

I have a growing collection of olden Mac books too, including repair/reference/technical books and history books, as well as both John Sculley and Gil Amelio's autobiographies.

I'm actually on the look-out for another bookshelf. Roughly half of my books/manuals are in boxes, which isn't the worst thing since I don't read them all everyday, but when I do, I have to go hunting around.

I have Mac & PowerMac Secrets (Second Edition I think). It's quite informational. :beige:
