I've been going through some of my old stuff recently and it just got me thinking about 7.7. Did it ever make it out into the wild? I've seen a couple of screenshots of dialog boxes and whatnot and mentions in some old Apple news, but nothing more than that.
Just curious if anyone has any detailed screenshots of it, or even a release.

I think that 7.7 was the 8.0 alpha. But that's the extent of my knowledge.
edit: Every time I see a topic named like this I always jump to the conclusion that someone found a working copy. :O

Yeah it was basically 8.0. Just like 8.7 became 9.0.
Apple bumped the version to 8.0 in order to kill off the clone makers.

7.7 is alive and well, on Macrumors, a guy posted a PowerBook XXXX and it had 7.7

If you mean the MI one, that was running 7.5.4. I've never seen a shot of a system running 7.7.
