FWB Hard Disk Toolkit
Posted by: Scott Baret on 2009-07-22 22:24:36
After hearing about it for years I finally bought a copy of Hard Disk Toolkit. It's version 2.0 and the manual is a hulking beast of a book. I've used just about every other hard disk utility known to mankind on vintage Macs except this one. Hopefully it will be as good as advertised (the reviews from the 1990s were excellent).

I think I'll use it on a 100MB Quantum ProDrive LPS (non-Apple). There seem to be a ton of bells and whistles on it and I can't wait to finally try out the feature set!

All I can say is that it works very well - I have version 4.5 and it does the job.

I've got a few copies from my apple technician days in the 90's. It's nothing special, but it works when nothing else will. Just be sure to read up on any bugs in the release you have. FWB toolkit is not bug free by any means.

Quite a good program that one - I have version 3.5. Definitely a must-have for anyone with an older Mac and non-Apple HDDs. Good score.

Nice conquest!

FWB Hard Disk Toolkit is one of the better third-party hard drive formatters out there. It formats really quickly and can make multiple bootable partitions (unlike patched HD SC Setup)
