Floppy disk drive cleaning question.
Posted by: JRL on 2009-07-21 10:55:20
So I bought a NOS floppy disk drive cleaning disk with cleaning liquid. Problem is that the cleaning liquid bottle won't dispense liquid. > 🙁

Should I be able to use water instead?

The floppy drive cleaning kits use isopropyl alcohol not water

Alright, thanks. 🙂 Which concentration of rubbing alcohol is the best? (99% or 91%)

the lower the percentage the higher the water content, I would recommend 99%

But in reality whatever you have should be ok, just let it dry off

Alright, thanks. 🙂

I recommend 99%. It's a lot more potent. You can get it at Safeway (or other stores that are owned by Safeway).

If you ask nicely and don't look like you're planning to drink it, you might be able to get it from a pharmacy/drug store/chemist.
