Says DigiDesign. I am pretty sure it's a sound card, but I am wondering because there's yellow and black, and sometimes Yellow = Video

Digidesign Audiomedia II 16 bit pro sound card with digital in out (using the old style rca jacks and not the newer style optical).

Thanks! this would go awesome with the video in/out capabilities on the Quadra I scored!

Wow, as a side note, do I need drivers, and where would I go to get them? (I would google-fu right now, but I am kind of also doing paperwork at the moment as well. Just thought I would pop on quickly.

The digital i/o is S/DPIF coax (as opposed to S/PDIF optical, aka TOSlink, which is more common on home gear). The data format is the same, but you need a converter. If you're lucky, you have a stereo around the house somewhere with optical in.

It's a while since I've wrassled with Digidesign drivers. Search their website - there should be a table somewhere of what drivers go with what OS version, etc.

There's a dedicated audio DSP on that board, which can do real-time effects on the I/O. Now you just need a copy of Deck II for some Quadra multitracking fun 😀

Excellent score.
