| PowerBook 5XX replication or redesign? |
Posted by: wthww on 2009-07-08 12:45:41 Hi! I've been thinking. The only real way to make sure we still have powerbook 5XX machines that aren't in a million pieces for any meaningful amount of time is to make a new enclosure for them. So, here is my question. For the moment, ignoring the logistics what would be better? Exactly copying the original design [hinges!!!] or making a new one, and what would you guys recommend? I've oft thought about designing one I could produce out of acrylic...

Well, at least that's what I want, what I really, really want … to make out of the spare parts I have from a plastics-challenged 540c.

If you can design hinges with less fail in them, by all means go ahead :beige:
