What is this thing good to use for now a days? I've got enough computers in my house (main desktop, work laptop, old thinkpad laptop), so I don't really have a use for it here other than dabbling on it.
I run a performing arts center on a local college campus, and I occasionally do audio recording for some of the concerts that perform there. I've got an older Dell dimension that i use for that purpose right now, but I think this may be a better option? I dunno, tell me what you guys think. What kind of recording software can I run on this thing? What other things could I do with it? I don't want to sell it as I kinda have a nice little mac museum collection starting again. Specs are below:
G4 733 Mhz
1GB PC-133 RAM
40GB and 100GB ATA Hard Drive
CD-RW and Zip 250 (yippee, lol)
Firewire, and PCI USB 2.0
ATI Radeon 8500LE (DVI, VGA, Svid)
Runnning OSX.. but I can't remember what version (wanna say 10.4)

Or extra processing for someone else. Check out Folding@Home.
| Posted by: waynestewart on 2009-06-30 08:49:13 I use my quicksilver with EyeTv as a PVR. Occasionally I import a tv show into iMovie and burn it to a DVD for someone.

| Posted by: Hrududu on 2009-07-03 09:05:01 It should handle audio work just fine I would think. Since you've already got 1Gb of RAM in it and a decent sized hard drive, I would definitely use it instead of an old Dell. As for software, I couldn't tell ya what to use.
