This time: An Apple ][gs Woz Edition.
To my knowledge, it's fully functional. It came with a system disk (old one, probably should make new ones). The lady was happy to give it away, or so it seems, as she had an identical one. Came with 3.5 HD Floppy drive and a 5.25 Floppy drive along with the keyboard, too.
Now for the questions:
Can I make disks from one of my 68k macs for the IIgs?
Can I use my Mac-VGA adapter to use a VGA monitor?
Where can I get some good freeware games?
Also, the lady's daughter was there, and we got to talking. She said that they might also have a Lisa over at her house along with some possible compact macs (she said that "classic" rang a bell). I can also get a monitor in case a VGA one doesn't work.

To your three questions: yes, no, and do a search for "what is the Apple IIgs" on Google.

I don't think you would be able to use a VGA monitor on your IIgs - I don't recall the IIgs's video output being anything even similar to VGA. Your best bet would instead be to use the RCA composite video output to plug it into a TV, or an Apple II display.

This really sounds like a fun little machine, I'll say that.

Even though I am in the process of purging my house of most of the computer stuff I do not use, I'd love an Apple II system. I don't particularly care which, just something to remind me of the good old days when I first got into computers. LOGO was the first language I programmed in, followed by BASIC. I miss those nascent days of learning and exploring.

This really sounds like a fun little machine, I'll say that. System 7 - 9 will read/write ProDOS disks, so long as you have PC Exchange installed. As for networking, i'm fairly sure that you *should* be able to connect to a LocalTalk network from the IIgs.

As long as you use GS/OS and get yourself a hard drive [you could do it on like, eight floppies. Oh god, the swapping!], it will do appletalk.
