Most Reliable 2.5" SCSI Hard Drives?
Posted by: Scott Baret on 2009-06-20 17:14:13
I am curious as to what the reliability rates have been with 2.5" SCSI hard drives for older PowerBooks. I've got a few of these drives, one of which is dead and another of which doesn't strike me as having much life left in it. What is the best type (both brand and capacity since I know drive reliability often varies by capacity) of 2.5" SCSI drive from your experiences?

In my opinion, the IBM drives are the best.

I second JRL - my PB145B has a IBM WDS-280 from memory, its never let me down. Another one is the Quantum GoDrive...most of them are bad, but if you find a good one, they can be a rather good drive.
