Is this an RCA Output Card?
Posted by: funkytoad on 2009-06-15 10:51:50
Hey guys,

Does anybody recognize this card?

It appears to be an RCA Output Card of some kind.

Would this be of use to anybody?

AFAIK that is a NuBus SuperMac composite out video card, but I could be wrong.

It's a Video Spigot. NTSC Composite capture. Pretty much the first commercial product for doing it inexpensively on the Mac.

Not output.

It has been a while since I've seen one, but I have to agree with bear here. The configuration of that board looks identical to the Video Spigot that I used to own.

Were there even dedicated composite out cards for the Mac? I don't really see much of a point to them. The video quality would suck for regular use, anything for video production really ought to have a better quality output anyways, I doubt that cost would be much of a factor that would make composite only more desirable than component since it is probably in component form before it gets converted into a composite signal. Oh, and many of the regular SuperMac video cards output to NTSC anyways.

Oops, my bad. :I Sorry about that.

There was indeed a composite video card available for the LC PDS though. (eMachines SimplyTV)

There was also the FOCUS Enhancements L*TV, L*TV Pro, and L*TV Pro/E. Best of luck finding any of them though.
