It is covered in tiny scratches if you hold it up to a light. Also, a little bit of the metal lining to the right of the latch is chipped, but does not affect anything. The battery is dead. It did not come with an AC adapter so I ordered one of those. The keyboard smells like diarrhea left in a public toilet for 3 days without having been flushed and possibly having been added to. As a result of that unpleasant scent, I ordered a new keyboard as well. The AC adapter and keyboard cost about $30 in total, so I essentially got a working IceBook for $30. I could try to get better case plastics, but I do not see that happening unless I come across a mindblowing deal. All in all, do you think this was a good deal for me??? 🙂 :-/ :?:

The keyboards have been know to smell over time and is a problem with the membrane material they used. As it breaks down due to heat and time, it emits a rather foul (but harmless) odor.
Here's hoping your machine works. I am quickly growing to love mine. The form factor, OS 9, the weight, colors (silver and white) are really growing on me.
