| Powerbook floppy interface |

It's 20 pins. Is it just an adapted normal internal connector?

Anyone care to corroborate?

Posted by: techknight on 2015-04-09 18:22:25 the powerbook FDD follows the same type of signalling as the desktop systems. They actually can be interchanged.
HOWEVER, you must know the pinout of the FDD. I used to have it at one point in the past, but ill be damned if I know where it is now. lol.

Posted by: raoulduke on 2015-04-09 19:09:43 hmm. this one that i opened isn't dead so i wasn't gonna be too adventurous. but what you're saying is that that brown ribbon connector isn't just a fitted/soldered adapter?
i mean honestly the impact of this question is nothing (to me) unless anything other than floppies use that connector standard. i don't think any do... meaning my best bet is replacing a dead floppy with a floppy.
i'm honestly thinking of going the other way and turning it into a space saver module.
