| How to tell Original CPU in Powerbook 1400 G3 |
Posted by: Strimkind on 2009-04-12 09:47:12 I got a G3 upgraded Powerbook 1400c a few days ago and it came with 2 133mhz and 1 166mhz in addition to the G3 chip inside. Is there any way to tell what the original CPU was?
There is a parts machine in addition to this machine so I have no idea what CPU belongs with what.

Posted by: alk on 2009-04-12 19:37:56 Umm, doesn't the machine's badge tell you that? It should say one of the following:
1400cs/117
1400c/117
1400cs/133
1400c/133
1400cs/166
1400c/166
The 2nd number (after the "/") is the original processor speed. Alternatively, you can take the PowerBook's serial number to http://www.chipmunk.nl/klantenservice/applemodel.html and plug it in to learn your Mac's specs. Unfortunately, that page isn't loading for me right now...
Peace,

Now I wonder what is wrong with the 1400cs...
