Can't enable networking on A/UX 3.1 - Help!
Posted by: fuzzface on 2009-04-04 12:37:27
Hello you guys!

Next to me sitting on the desk is one of my two SE/30s which i bought off ebay a few weeks ago.

I just wanted to have someting to play around with and thougt a SE/30 would be great. :beige:

Both Machines came with Kinetics Etherport SE Cards installed. One of them suffers from simasi-mac-sickness - but that's another story...

The one that is working got cleaned up and put 20 MB of RAM in.

Today I installed A/UX 3.1.

Everything went fine, except the networking. If i run newconfig no network-adapter is showing up thus i can't enable networking. 🙁

Is there any possibilty to get the Kinetics card to work? If the answer is yes, how can it be done?

Your help is greatly appreciated.

You need a card that is a clone of an apple network card for A/UX to work (or a card with A/UX drivers if they exist). I think the Asante MC3NB is a perfect working clone, so maybe an Asante SE/30 card will work.

See if "I have an EtherNet card that works fine under the Macintosh OS but not under A/UX. Why?" in the FAQ helps you at all.
