| OS 7 SIT compression utility? |
Posted by: phreakindee on 2009-02-18 11:32:47 I'm looking to archive some disks and files, and possibly CDs, is there a good recommended accessible program for OS 7.5.5 to compress to SIT? It seems DropStuff does this, but can only find some shareware versions which I've not tried. Never really tried to do this, only decompressed before, so any help is appreciated!
Also, is there a good way to backup a disk to an image file? I had a program at one point and cannot find it now, something simple like Disk Copy or something it was called...

Posted by: madcrow on 2009-02-18 12:21:27 Currently, I've got DropStuff on my rig to create StuffIt archives. Disk Image is the tool for creating Disk images under System 7. Disk Image is freeware, but I'll not post a link to it directly as the site I got if from has links to stuff like Mac System ROM images which oughtn't to be spread. I can send it to you if you need it.

As for DropStuff, will the shareware version floating about the web work or is it limited?
