So, the next best thing, a 500MHz G4...these go a lot cheaper than the 1GHz for obvious reasons. But is it still worth it?
The benchmark results on this page seem to suggest it is worth it, and this is based on a G3/400, not a 300MHz like mine.

Thoughts?
| Posted by: Rodus on 2009-02-18 04:26:16 Are you using OS X? If so then the G4 500 will spank the G3 round the block and back. Whether it's worth the money or not is up to you.
| Posted by: joshc on 2009-02-18 06:27:18 No, its my Mac OS 9 machine.
| Posted by: Unknown_K on 2009-02-18 09:23:10 G3's in the 450 range are very cheap. I would buy a used g3 1Ghz before I invested the same amount of money into a g4-500.
All in all I wouldn't bother with anything over a g3-450, better off getting an AGP g4 with 133 memory bus and upgrading that.
