Emulating a Macintosh
Posted by: Temetka on 2009-02-08 18:57:50
What it the easiest way to Emulate OS 8 or 9 with a PPC ROM on Windows Vista?

Secondly where can I get the ROM's from? I have Quadra ROM's but want PPC ROM's.

Thirdly I have all kinds of MacOS CD's from 7.5.3 to 9.2.2 so that shouldn't be a problem should it?

Thanks in advance.

EDIT:

I am also looking to emulate a IIgs or so. Nostalgia has taken hold.

BTW is there a USB 5.25" floppy drive?

SheepShaver is what I use.

You can even use New World ROM images from one of your newer Mac OS CDs:

Yeah.

Been having problems with that. It wants 2 different libraries installed and still gives me problems so I deleted it.

Also there is no USB 5.25" Floppy Drive, so I must have been smoking crack.

What's the best of the Apple II series?

Might this guide help you setting up SheepShaver?

I sort of wrote it. If you run into some specific problems, maybe I can sort them out?

Edited to add:

Oh, and there is one for kegs, which is a nice way to emulate that IIgs:
