A Packard Bell Multimedia m415. Quite the unusual machine using an unusual lobo.

It also supports both FPM and EDO. I put 64mb EDO in it.

It has 166mhz PI which I overclocked to 200, Windows 95 OSR 2 Stock PB Install, and the horrid crystal audio and ok S3 Video.

It only has 2 PCI Slots and 3 ISA on this backpane, but all PB Backpanes are compatible. So I will be putting in a 3 PCI 3 ISA.

I put in also a Sound Blaster Awe64 for good MIDI Synth, Matrox MGA Milineum Video in PCI 0, and a 3com Ehterlink III in the ISA slot, as Windows 95 did not like my PCI Cards.

If anyone knows the best video card for PCI and Windows 95 please mention it.

WOW! That was my/our very first computer! Specs and model are exact. That thing was a POS. Great memories, though.

It is similar to my first computer, and it isnt a POS when you take out the POS cards. 😛

Mine was a multimedia 520, which was same logic in a tower case.

I just snagged a free DELL Optiplex Gs the other day (P166) and it works fine. The funny thing about it is most people used a small heatsink and fan to cool a Pentium 166 while dell has a huge towering copper heatsink that looks like a tree and then a shround that directs air over it from the PS fan.

Thw Gs also has built in S3 video which is OK (1MB up to 2MB VRAM). The Matrox Millenium card is great for Win95 once you go to Matrox and get the proper drivers (not included into the Win95 cd). You can also go find cheap 3DFX cards on ebay if you want to play some of the original 3D games.

The PB Style is by frog design, the same people who did snow white design language which we all love.

Its OK, it beats a metal box.

And the matrox drivers are MUCH better.
