| NFS on my ANS |
Posted by: ChristTrekker on 2009-01-19 06:47:15 How do I mount an NFS share on my ANS? I seem to be missing a file called /sbin/helpers/nfsmnthelp, which some googling tells me is required under AIX. If it wasn't installed with the system, where can I get it?

How do I mount an NFS share on my ANS?
mount hostname:share /mountpoint no?
alternatively, use smit.

Posted by: ChristTrekker on 2009-01-19 11:57:31 That's what I do. And I get the error
/sbin/helpers/nfsmnthelp: A file or directory in the path name does not exist. |
Posted by: porter on 2009-01-19 12:23:45 I'm running 4.3.2++ on a 43P (4.3.2 plus 4.3.3 updates that managed to install)
$ cd /sbin
$ cd helpers
$ ls
aufsmnthelp cfsmnthelp dfsmnthelper nfsmnthelp v3fshelper
$ ls -l nfsmnthelp
-r-xr-xr-x 1 root system 27468 Jun 26 2008 nfsmnthelp
$ file nfsmnthelp
nfsmnthelp: executable (RISC System/6000) or object module
$ uname -a

Do you have the installation media for the AIX you are using? CD still sitting in the drive, and I've mounted it. But I don't know where I might find this, or how to manually install it if/when I do. AIX seems opaque to me, coming from a Linux/BSD/Solaris background.
