My Pismos' menu bar has vanished... help?
Posted by: Joe Sushi on 2009-01-14 19:25:25
Okay,

I need some help on this one...

My wife (bless her soul) has killed another PB, first my lombard, then my DVI and now my pismo.

Alright, it was dead after she got "just a little bit of water" down the back through the vents. After letting it dry out and then charge for about a week it came back to life.

So, it boots fine everything seems cool, but I have no "menu bar"

you know where the clock and airport, battery gauge, etc. displays. I have the little magnifing glass (whatever thats called) in the corner but I get the spinner of wonderless color when ever I roll over it.

so, any ideas on whats wrong and how to fix it?

You might be able to boot up from the os x disk and repair permissions.

It sure seems like a software problem. At the very worst, reinstalling OS X should fix it.
