Backlight

I'm going to take the plunge and get a backlight for my Pismo. Does this look like a trustworthy seller?

meh, for that price, you can't go wrong. Also, doing a replacement on backlights is a BIG thing. Very hard to do, so if you aren't in for spending a few hours doing it, go ahead. I dread doing them myself, as there is a HUGE risk for cracking the LCD.

Second: you will need TWO of the CCFL's to do it. Screens on the older Powerbooks usually take them in sets of twos. Newer displays for Desktop LCDs take them in sets of 4s. So in a modern display, there is two on the bottom, two on the top.

Older Powerbooks are like One on the bottom, one on the top.

AFAIK, the Pismo has only one CCFL, at the bottom.

In fact, I can't think of a 'book of that age that uses more than one. Coius -- do you have a list of which "older" books you're referring to? We should maintain such a list.

Yes, please clarify that. Thanks!
