| craigslists finds part 3 |
Posted by: armymp11b on 2009-01-04 10:56:56 I was able to find a Mac 8500 for 10 dollars and working on a G3 beige tower for 25 dollars. I also was able to get a Nokia N770 Internet Tablet for 20 dollars and its a cool toy. I also got a IBM Workpad Z50 for 25 dollars. The only CE style laptop that IBM ever made. Came with extra bateries dock, manual etc.

Well nice finds anyways, be careful about the 8500- they are quite brittle.

Posted by: Strimkind on 2009-01-04 12:40:47 I used an 8500 as my main machine for 4 years, I did not find it brittle at all (just got slower as it aged)

Posted by: Unknown_K on 2009-01-04 12:56:08 The plastics in my orignal 8500 case would break if you looked at them funny, newer case isn't as bad.
Not sure why Apple didn't like screwing cards into cases and used those flimsy plastic tabs that break when old. Power buttons of that age are also brittle.

Posted by: Brooklyn on 2009-01-04 13:14:54 The 8500 case construction was very poorly designed. I could have been designed more resembling a standard PC case on the inside, but kept the outside the same.
