| Maximum Weight of a monitor on top of a IIvx/650 style case? |

Does anybody know what the maximum weight these cases can handle? I believe remember some macs having official weight numbers. Anybody know the max weight for these?

I have a 17" CRT monitor sitting atop my Quadra 650, and so far it seems to be OK. According to that chart Dana linked to, the Quadra 650 seems to handle the 17" Apple monitors on top of it, so the ViewSonic monitor I'm using should be fine.

I personally wouldn't put any CRT larger than 19" on top of any Mac case, even if it could technically support something heavier. If it's an aperture grill like Sony's Trinitron design I wouldn't go over 17" since they're heavier than other CRTs.

Nothing wrong with them. I've got two, one of which is almost 10 years old and is still running strong as the kids' PC monitor for 3 years now despite the abuse (ViewSonic A75f). The one I'm using is a black one that has a nice crisp picture and I got it for free from a coworker.
That black one might get replaced soon with a 22" Acer LCD that's gotten really good reviews (don't remember the model name).
