eMac 1.25 that needs capacitor repair

Hey all, Got this a bit over a week ago, but I finally got around to posting about it.

I picked up an eMac that needs the capacitor repair for $10 at my university's surplus shop. It's in 1.25/512/80/combo configuration, and has a modem, but it looks like it does not have an Airport or bluetooth card.

I'm thinking of getting a 1.42 board for it off of eBay, there's every indication in the service manual that it'll work just fine, and if I can pick one up for about $50-100, I'll have only sunk about a hundred dollars into a moderately fast G4 system that I can use for whatever as a second computer, or that I can give to a friend who might need or want a mac or a desktop system

1. Buy eMac

2. Buy Replacement Logic Board

3. Assemble

4. Sell to friend

5. ????

6. Profit!

It fit in well. Nice score.

Apple will still fix these eMacs, if you talk to the right person. They apparently still have tons of motherboards sitting around. I have had 4 repaired for free that I got for cheap from school auctions. I am typing this on a 1.42 GHz eMac. It's a great little Mac.

Yeah, I can't really take it directly to Apple, but our bookstore here is an Apple-Authorized service center. The program is expired though, so I'm trying to decide whether or not I'll be hauling it all the way up there, depending on if I can done that I may put the thing in storage for a little bit too, because I have to move soon.
