Sound messed up in PowerMac 8500
Posted by: Brooklyn on 2008-11-04 14:26:16
The sound is somewhat messed up in my powermac 8500. The internal speaker works ok, however when I plug something into the line out port, I get nothing. Also, in the sound control panel, I cannot adjust the sound volume, and no input or output devices are listed. However I still get sounds out of the system speaker.

Running OS 9.2.2. Any idea what I can do to fix this :?: Specs in my sig.

Is OS 9.2.2 the reason the sound is messed up then you think? You can "old world support" to load 9.2.2

I actually had some really weird stuff happen today on my 5500, which is running 9.2.2 with the OS9Helper software.

I had a lot of files in a folder, that by default were all over the place and not arranged. When I clicked View->Arrange->By Name, they were arranged for a couple seconds, before scattering themselves all over the place again. I had to set the folder to arrange items automatically.

It was really weird. I think there are a lot of bugs with running 9.2.2. on Old World machines.

My Power Macintosh 8500 got screwed up... you might be right about the bugs.
