Hi Everyone!

I'm new here (in the sense that I've been lurking for years, registered a month ago to PM and now am finally posting), and I just posted a NuBus wish list. But that seems awfully forward! A little bit about me:

I'm a university student studying engineering, music & Russian. I'm doing research in materials science & speak Russian pretty well (have traveled there extensively). I've had a soft spot for Macs & all things Apple since primary school when we worked in a lab full of LCs & Apple IIe. Nothing quite like printing out some awful Print Shop banner on an ImageWriter, eh?

I've sort of collected Macs off and on for years now, and recently got a bunch of old machines from a graphic design firm. My main machine is a MacBook, but I also use a B&W G3 for OS X apps that don't run under Leopard and an 8500 for classic apps under 8.6. I'm working on rebuilding a Quadra setup for some serial interfacing & audio mixing, but unfortunately a lot of my old audio hardware got lost in a move [🙁] ]'>.

I love Max / MSP & Jitter, and all sorts of modern computer music stuff. To a lesser degree, I like Digital Performer, but Apple's revamping of Logic is making me think about converting. My strategy is generally to buy really expensive software a few generations back to save some $$$, hence I really use the G3 & 8500 a LOT (yeah Final Cut Pro 3!).

Anyway, soon I'll be posting of a recent conquest and trying to unload some excess machines.
