Should I do it?

I have been considering Leopard on my 800mhz TiBook and my wife's dual 500 G4. The dual 500 has a PCI 32mb radeon 7000 in it and 1.25 gigs of ram. The TiBook has 768mb of ram, though I allready plan to max it at 1 gig. I also have a faster HD for it. I like the idea of time machine. Has anybody with similar hardware done it? What are your thoughts / imperssions?

Tried it on a G4 450 with PCI Radeon Mac Edition + 1GB RAM. It ran like an absolute dog compared to 10.4. It's not especially fast on my 1.33 Ghz G4 and that's way above the specs of the machines you're thinking about. There are also reports of GPU's that don't support Core Image (like your Radeon 7000 and I'm guessing the Tibook has a Radeon 7500) not running Time Machine properly or at all. To be honest mate I'd stick with Tiger or you'll be in for a very sluggish experience.

My thoughts exactly. I had Leopard on my dual 450 G4 with 1.12GB of ram and the Radeon 7000, it was alright, but it gets annoying after a while. Leopard seems to chew on hard drives. Like you hear it load more then in Tiger.
