High quality VGA cables (ELTOP brand?)
Posted by: Syntho on 2014-09-13 21:44:44
I'm running 25' of VGA cables and I find that most brands aren't cutting it. I tried 4 different 25' VGA cables just now and all of them give me weird ghosting and artifacts on my screen. The only 25' cable that I have that works decently is an ELTOP Electronics brand cable. I have no idea where I bought this but it was 4-5 years ago. It's not perfect, but it definitely works better than the others I've tried. Cable quality seems to make a huge difference at that length, especially if you're running an older video card.

I can't find any more of those ELTOP brand ones so I'm going to need another source. I just bought 3 new ones off Ebay and it was cash down the drain. I can't keep taking chances until I land on one that works.. any recommendations?

Use shorter cords and active boosters/signal regenerators?

Do they have ferrite on both ends of the cable?  Is both the display and the computer properly grounded?
