Posted by: bluekatt on 2008-09-21 23:52:11 i have a wallstreet wel several wallstreets and unfortunaly no means of getting data from their hard drives other then a zip disk module ( but no zip disks ...go figure)
and i have been seeing several reasonable prices usb 2.0 cardbus cards from sitecom and trust
before i buy these do they work in a wallstreet under mac os X jaguar ?
or would i just be wasting my money ?

Posted by: Unknown_K on 2008-09-22 01:30:19 Can a wallstreet even use a cardbus (32bit) card? I thaught they just did 16 bit pcmcia cards.
Anyway whats wrong with the built in ethernet?

Posted by: bluekatt on 2008-09-22 02:09:59 no in so far i know wallstreets can do cardbus
http://www.insanely-great.com/features/010823.html
the kanga has problems with cardbus and the 1400 and 2400 dont support it
im just wondering if these usb cards work under os X jaguar i cant get panther installed on them
usb 1.1 wil be just fine i dont need usb 2.0
the data has to go from a wallstreet to a pc and i never really did much with ethernet transfers
edit : then again it seems that link awnserd my question for me
no mention of mac os x though

Posted by: bluekatt on 2008-09-22 09:43:15 update : it works
i bought a sitecome usb 2.0 cardbus card and it works just fine
jaguar doesnt reconigse the vendor but it reconigses the usb ports and uses them

Posted by: Bunsen on 2008-09-22 10:26:37 For the record:
1400, 5300 and below: 16 bit PC Card/PCMCIA only
2400, 3400: 32 bit Cardbus capable but require a hardware hack
Kanga: As 3400 I think
Wallstreet and above: Cardbus

but if jaguar could use a cardbus card with usb
turns out it can so i am happy with that
