| 68kmla down? |
Posted by: equill on 2008-08-30 21:59:27 It's just on three days since I last logged into this site (GMT 1648 Thu 27 Aug 2008). During the interval, neither 68kmla.org nor 68kmla.com returned anything but a black background, a Sad Mac and the two-line error code ERROR/00404. Now that I can connect again, I find no mention of an outage in any recent posts. ¿Que?

Posted by: coius on 2008-08-30 22:08:44 hmmm... no idea. I have been on this site for the last three days and never got any issues like that. Perhaps your ISP was caching an old page or something?

Posted by: funkytoad on 2008-08-30 22:12:29 haven't had any problems the past few days.

Posted by: Temetka on 2008-08-30 23:12:37 I have not experienced anything except the standard board I am used to.
I'd suggest emptying your internet caches.

Posted by: ~tl on 2008-08-31 04:50:59 I haven't noticed any down time over the last few days. Are you sure your bookmarks are pointing at the right place? Before the Great Forum Crash of 2007 the URIs were in the form of:
http://68kmla.org/viewtopic.php?t=XXXX
http://68kmla.org/search.php?search_id=newposts
Whereas, now they are:
http://68kmla.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=XXXX
http://68kmla.org/forums/search.php?search_id=newposts
If you had a topic bookmarked from before the crash then it will give you a 404 page now...

For me it was down a week or so ago, and I happened to notice it was the same day that the domain was up for renewal. I was a bit concerned... Yeah, when the domain was renewed, the nameserver addresses got reset, so they no longer pointed at the server. It took us a bit to notice and get it changed back [😱)] ]'>

Posted by: equill on 2008-08-31 13:12:34 As of when I posted above all has been as hitherto. I had emptied my Safari cache for other reasons before the Sad Mac episodes began. Now that connection to 68kmla has been re-established, the same bookmarks et alia as before function flawlessly, so I have no credible explanation of the phenomenon. Nor has my ISP been suspicionable, in this instance at least. The episode was just another Murphyism, it seems.
