Just won on ebay. 9500 for £12 and Sonnet G3 300 card for £6 [😀] ]'> Stick in my spare Rage 128 card and that'll be a nice system 7.6 machine.

I have an 8500 that runs 8.1 like a champ (sorry I like platinum better than whatever system 7's ui was called).

If you download Appearance Manager and Navigation Services from this page, it will make 7.6 look just like Mac OS 8:

You also can drop the appearance extension that comes with 8.1 into 7.6. That will work too. I recommend against using Aaron with these better alternatives.

Actually I've just realized that I need system 8 for Deus Ex (not that it's what I'm buying this machine for [😉] ]'> ) I'm also going to put in my Radeon Mac Edition (instead of the 128) from my G4 server as it's not getting used much.

Radeon Mac Edition is probably the single best possible card for 7.6 or 8.1; hardware T+L but without the driver issues of the Radeon 9200 series boards.

Wow! The G3 was a sod to get in, didn't realize how hard you had to push it in, but with that and the Radeon, 8.6 absolutely screams.

where the former daughter card would sit..it runs at 400 mhz...
makes OS 8, and 9, rockets!!
