| Quicksilver CPU Mod/Digital Audio |
Posted by: Steve_G on 2008-08-15 06:48:54 I have been reading about how you can use a Quicksilver CPU in a Digital Audio powermac, but it has to have a 12 Volt connection, anyone here know how to do that or know of a guide online?

However, keep in mind that I have seen it suggested that the Digital Audio G4s do not recognise the L3 cache of Quicksilver processors. However, I don't know whether the person making this claim is correct and it may only apply to the earlier Sawtooth/Gigabit Ethernet G4s. Since the Digital Audio motherboard is essentially identical to the Quicksilver, I personally don't see why the Digital Audio would not recognize the L3 cache. In short, you may be better off (and have less work to do) using a third party cpu upgrade which will definitely support the L3 cache in a Digital Audio.
