SE30 Bright Horizontal line - analog board works fine
Posted by: SadMac on 2015-03-06 10:11:47
One of my SE30s plays the start up chime (quietly) but displays a bright white horizontal line, approx 1mm thick. I don't like to leave it on for too long because it seems bad for the CRT.

However, it's not the analog board. I've swapped it to a known working analog board (and the good board into this case... displays fine), so I'm certain the problem is somewhere on the logic board.

I've ordered some caps, but in the meantime I wondered if anyone has seen this, because all fault guides I've read so far indicate this is the analog board, which it definitely isn't in my caseĀ  :-/

There are several threads on this. Some funnier than others, but they all taught me something about UE8.

I had the same problem (bright horizontal line) and resolved it by replacing the PALs. I posted more information here: https://68kmla.org/bb/index.php?thr...ip-not-analog-board-related.39754/post-558154
