Fedora on an upgraded PM 7300?
Posted by: rpaxton32 on 2008-08-05 10:21:08
I have in my posession a Power Mac 7300 with a G3/500, 176 MB of memory, and a 2 gig hard disk. What would 68kMLA suggest in terms of the latest Fedora Core installable on this configuuration? I would also like to keep OS 9, if possible. A/UX is an option.

A/UX is an option.
No it isn't.

A/UX doesn't support PPC, hence paws' response.

I figured it would have been through 68k emulation, I mean, one can run games written for the 68k architechture on PPC, why not A/UX?

A/UX hits the hardware directly. Read up a bit on it.

(a) it's an operating system not an application

( B) yes it could be done through emulation, but nobody has written that emulator yet

© no, Basilisk won't do it.
