Swans S3W speakers with matching amplifier (it's the tiny aluminum cylinder which serves as a volume control too)

Just set them up an hour ago, but so far, I am absolutely loving the little things! No real bass, but something about the sound is just fun to listen to anyhow. These may be the most delightful computer speakers I've ever come across. Alas, I don't know how long they'll continue to be available, as that amp is based on a Tripath Class-T power amp chip, and Tripath seems to have folded earlier this year.
New camera is a Sony DSC-W300 which got a good review on Luminous Landscape. This is actually my second camera: The first one was kind of fuzzy along the left hand side, but the replacement is just fine.

Very nice. I've never actually used a Leica, always been more of an SLR fan.

Very nice. I've never actually used a Leica, always been more of an SLR fan. Rangefinder cameras are a more specialized tool, and not everyone's cup of tea, but I'm kind of fond of them myself. Would not mind trying a Sony or Pentax DSLR, but so far haven't found anyone who cares to loan one to me.

I've never owned a Pentax DSLR, but I've got a Sony. Its pretty nice, especially the in-body stabilizer.

A Leica rangefinder is as much a piece of art as it is a camera. They are near silent, small, and light. Many National Geographic photogs use them. From what I have read, they are wonderful and in a class by themselves.
I use a D50. The Nikon D50 was as much as I could afford and justify. I like it very much. I only wish it was quieter.

Has anyone used the Epson rangefinder camera? It's a little bit dated now, but pretty well-made and very clever (the "film rewind knob" serves as one of the major controls!). Maybe 18 months ago, you could still buy one as a refurb directly from Epson for $1500. Friend of mine bought one when it first came out.
