Gravis Mac Blackhawk Drivers
Posted by: russman on 2008-07-08 16:10:20
Hey guys i need your help with something. I purchased an old ADB Gravis Blackhawk joystick. I know it works because when I move the joystick the pointer corresponds. Unfortunately I do not have the proper drivers. I found the drivers for a Gravis mouse stick II. The buttons work properly with this but the axis doesn't even work with the drivers on. I really want the proper drivers anyway because I want to use the throttle wheel. I anyone has the drivers for this joystick please let me know.

Here is a picture

ftp.gravis.com

go to Public -> Macstick then look in the bkh1.0 folder.

Ideally if you had a system with internet/network access then you would want Mac_Blackhawk.sea.hqx.

But there are also disk1.sea and disk2.sea files as well, they are images of the floppies that would have shipped with the joystick. Useful if your system does not have internet/network access.

Download these:

disk1.sea -> Mac Blackhawk Installer

disk2.sea -> Mac Blackhawk2

powerbook patch.sea -> PowerBook 160/180 ADB Patch

Read Me - Blackhawk

OR this

Mac_Blackhawk.sea.hqx -> Mac Blackhawk Installer (<- folder containing the following🙂

Mac Blackhawk Installer

Mac Blackhawk2

PowerBook 160/180 ADB Patch

Read Me - Blackhawk

Thanks, I got the drivers. But now i can't get it to work properly in some games. I tried it in two with the config files that came with the drivers. In Descent, I can't use the stick at all even though in the menus i can move the pointer with it. I tried joystick, mouse, mousestick ii and nothing worked. Also I tried it in F/18 hornet 2 and the throttle wheel was very erratic but the stick works. Am I just semi retarded or is there something amiss here? This thing is starting to piss me off. Oh and in Descent if i have it set to mouse control, even moving the mouse when the joystick is plugged in and drivers installed does nothing.

Ah well i got it to work but its not for me. With my ADB mouse i can get better responsiveness and control. Not sure why but I guess thats why we use usb nowadays. I know why everybody has these things packed away because they are less responsive than the stock adb mouse.

You have any other unneeded input device drivers uninstalled and the latest input sprockets or whatever installed right?

What happens if you try it on another computer? What if you wiggle the cable around while using it?
