| Can I fix an original Game Boy for the next RetroChallenge? |
Posted by: JRL on 2008-06-30 17:37:55 Would this qualify as a entry? I mean, because a Game Boy does have a CPU and RAM.

Actually the Retrochallenge is great time to fix stuff.

washed out LED screen..sure changed the way games were
played..Myself, dug the GB pocket, or GB Colour..
A hack I'm thinking of, is to shoe horn the guts from a GB
Advance into GB Color..or original GB...I have enough of 'em
lying around..so I would give it a whirl...

Posted by: JRL on 2008-08-23 19:25:00 No, it was the Game Boy Advance SP.
|
Posted by: Anonymous Freak on 2008-08-23 20:14:38 TECHNICALLY, the first lit Game Boy was the Game Boy Light; but it was Japan-only. (It came out at about the same time as the Game Boy Pocket in the U.S.)

Posted by: MrMacPlus on 2008-09-08 16:51:18 Hmm, an interesting tidbit I found while opening a busted Game Boy (original) is that it has a 4mhz processor (or something like that).
:EDIT: It has a 4.194304mhz processor. I also see two 64kb SRAM chips on board (as much as a Mac 128k)! Need any pictures?
