| Source for System 3.2 |
Posted by: bigmessowires on 2015-02-25 20:23:03 Anyone know of a working source for System 3.2? It turns out what I have is actually System 3.3. I need regular System 3.2, and not the 3.2 HD20 startup disk.
I tried the usual sources, and found two different places with stuffit archives for System 3.2 install disks. But all the versions of Stuffit that I tried barfed on the files, complaining they weren't valid archives.

Posted by: unity on 2015-02-25 20:28:34 I sent you an email with what I have. Two systems.
System 3.2 / Finder 5.2
System 3.2 / Finder 5.3 (this folder also contained 1.0 Sys Tools 512ke / 1.1 Sys Tools Mac Plus / HD20 Startup - but I only sent the one sys file)

Posted by: bigmessowires on 2015-02-25 20:40:36 Nah, I'm just trying to get this Lisa system set up with a known good System version, so I can stop blaming other factors for why the Floppy Emu doesn't work. ๐

Posted by: bigmessowires on 2015-02-26 07:44:38 I saw that discussion about shrinking the systemโฆ I'm not sure that idea really makes sense. The system file on the Classic's ROM disk image is small because a lot of the system stuff is actually in main ROM (or whatever you want to call it) instead of the disk image. But it's all still in ROM somewhere - shifting resources from the ROM disk image to the system ROM area doesn't decrease the total size of the ROM at all, so it doesn't let you fit any more stuff on the ROM disk. Maybe there's something I'm missing, but I don't see how it would help.
