powerbook 100 HD
Posted by: nahuelmarisi on 2008-06-08 11:12:02
I finally managed to boot my powerbook 100 Before I used to get a black screen, while now I can boot it from a floppy. However the harddrive seems dead.

I was wondering which type of hard drive do I need to get? is it any scsi laptop hard drive?

These should work:

go for the bigger sized ones rather than 20mb or 40mb - the sticky problem will effect those more than the larger sized ones - although they can and will be effected too.

Does it have to be apple branded?

An Apple-branded scsi drive simply has a little code in ROM that lets HD SC Setup know it's a supported drive. If you use a third-party formatting utility (or a patched version of HD SC Setup), the drive need not be Apple-branded.

Normal 2.5 SCSI drives seem to be rare...
